Risalah is prophethood, Allah's way of communicating His message to humans. Allah chose prophets to receive His guidance and pass it on.

  2. 2

What is the difference between a nabi and a rasul?

    Model answer

A nabi is a prophet who receives revelation from Allah. A rasul is a messenger who is also given a scripture or law to deliver.

Adam was the first human being, created by Allah from clay. Allah breathed His spirit into Adam and taught him the names of all things.

  4. 4

In what sense was Adam made in Allah's image?

    Model answer

A hadith says Allah created Adam in His image. Most scholars read this as sharing qualities such as reason and speech, since nothing is like Allah (Surah 42:11).

  5. 5

    Why was Adam made khalifa?

    Model answer

Allah gave Adam the ability to reason and make choices, which angels do not have. Adam was made khalifa, a steward who cares for the earth on Allah's behalf.

  6. 6

Why is Ibrahim called a hanif?

    Model answer

A hanif is a person who worships the one God and rejects idols. Ibrahim turned from his people's idols to worship Allah alone.
