Questions from this subtopic
Each one with the model answer underneath.
- 1
How is the 30 m sprint test carried out?
Model answer
The performer sprints 30 m flat out from a standing start and is timed to the finish line. The best of two or three runs with full recovery counts.
- 2
What is a flying 30 m sprint, and why is it used?
Model answer
A flying sprint gives a run-up zone before the timed 30 m begins. A flying sprint measures top speed rather than acceleration.
- 3
How is the Illinois agility run carried out?
Model answer
The performer starts lying face down and sprints around a 10 m by 5 m course, weaving through four central cones. The time to complete the course is compared with norms.
- 4
Evaluate the Illinois agility run for a footballer.
Model answer
The Illinois run includes sharp turns and weaving much like a match, and needs only cones and a stopwatch. The test involves no ball or opponent to react to, which match agility requires.
- 5
What is the T-test for agility?
Model answer
The T-test uses four cones laid out in a T shape. The performer moves forward, sideways in both directions and backwards around the cones against the clock.
- 6
How is the stork stand test carried out?
Model answer
The performer stands on one foot with the other foot against the standing knee and the hands on the hips. The heel is raised and the balance held for as long as possible.
