Model answer
Tuckman's four stages are forming, storming, norming and performing. Bruce Tuckman proposed the model in 1965.

The forming stage is when members meet and get to know each other. Members weigh up each other's strengths and look to the coach for direction.

Model answer
The storming stage involves conflict as members compete for roles and status. Members may challenge the leader and resist group rules.
- 5
What happens at the norming stage?
Model answer
The norming stage is when members settle into roles and agree standards of behaviour. Cooperation and cohesion increase.
- 6
