Building a storyboard from user requirements
- 3 things to know
- AS Unit 2
Overview
User requirement, functional requirement and traceability between requirements and a storyboard.
What you need to know
Answer each one before you reveal it.
How is a user requirement turned into part of a storyboard?
What is a functional requirement?
Questions from this subtopic
Each one with the model answer underneath.
- 1
What is a user requirement?
Model answer
A user requirement is a statement of something the user needs the finished application to do, written in the user's own terms.
- 2
How is a user requirement turned into part of a storyboard?
Model answer
Each requirement is traced to the screen and the control that will satisfy it, and the frame is then drawn to include that control.
- 3
What is a functional requirement?
Model answer
A functional requirement states an action the system must perform, such as recording a booking or printing a receipt.
- 4
What is a non functional requirement?
Model answer
A non functional requirement states a quality the system must have, such as responding within a set time or being usable without training.
- 5
Give two examples of non functional requirements that change how a storyboard is drawn.
Model answer
A requirement that the interface works without a mouse and a requirement that no screen needs scrolling both change how the frames are drawn.
- 6
What does it mean to say a requirement must be measurable?
Model answer
A measurable requirement states a figure or a condition that a test can check, so there is no argument about whether it was met.
