Questions from this subtopic
Each one with the model answer underneath.
- 1
Define a change request.
Model answer
A change request is a recorded request to alter the agreed requirements, design or schedule of the solution.
- 2
What should a change request record contain?
Model answer
A change request records the date, who asked, what is wanted, why, the effect on the plan and the decision taken.
- 3
Why is a change request assessed for impact before it is accepted?
Model answer
Impact assessment reveals the extra time and the knock-on effects, so the decision is taken with the real cost known.
- 4
Who decides whether a change request is accepted?
Model answer
The user and the developer decide together, because the user owns the requirement and the developer owns the estimate.
- 5
Why is every version of the plan kept rather than overwritten?
Model answer
Keeping earlier versions shows how the plan responded as the development progressed, and prevents an old plan being mistaken for the current one.
- 6
What distinguishes one issue of a plan from another?
Model answer
A version number and an issue date printed on the plan distinguish one issue from another.
