Divorce is the legal ending of a marriage. Divorced partners are free in law to marry again.
- 2
What does Jesus teach about divorce in Matthew 19:1–12?

An annulment is a declaration by the Catholic Church that a marriage was never valid. The partners are then free to marry in church.
- 5

Many Protestants believe it is better to end a marriage than to live in cruelty or constant conflict. God offers forgiveness and a fresh start.
